We sharpen every pair of skates by hand, same day in the store. Sparx available upon request.
Not sure what hollow you need? We've got you.
For adult beginners or anyone at an adult weight, we start with a 1/2" radius. It's the standard hollow for a reason — it gives you an even balance of stability and glide, a perfect foundation while you get your footing on the ice.
For younger skaters, we recommend a 7/16". Kids and lighter skaters don't carry the same body weight as adults, which means they can't press deep into the ice. A deeper hollow compensates for that, keeping them stable and in control.
